Rumbots FAQ

The useful stuff, before you hit the big green button.

Is Rumbots free to play?

Yes. The current browser playtest is free, with no account or download required.

Is Rumbots multiplayer?

Yes. Join anonymous shared browser matches at any time. There are 25 fighter slots; bots fill empty slots, and a joining player replaces a bot. Everyone gets an automatically generated funny name.

Do I have to aim and shoot manually?

No. Online matches use automatic aiming and firing at visible opponents within weapon range. Focus on movement, cover, and jumping.

How do I double-jump?

Press Space to jump and press it again while airborne for a stronger second boost. On a phone, tap JUMP twice. Landing resets both jumps.

How do kill-streak upgrades work?

Every three kills without dying upgrades the gun to 10 times its previous damage and adds a bigger weapon silhouette and effects. Dying resets the streak and power, while your match eliminations remain.

How do I win a match?

Be first to 100 eliminations. The round ends for everyone, then a new round starts automatically in the next arena. Joining players start at zero kills.

Can I play on my phone?

The game has touch controls for movement, turning, jumping, sprinting and target switching. Performance depends on your device and browser. Desktop keyboard controls are also supported.

Which camera view does Rumbots use?

Rumbots uses a third-person camera behind your robot. First-person view has been removed.

What are the automatic firing ranges?

The Pulse Rifle reaches 18 metres, the Vector SMG 15 metres, and the Breacher spread weapon 9 metres. Solid cover blocks shots. Streak upgrades increase damage without extending those ranges.

Do my scores carry over after a reload?

No. Reloading creates a new anonymous session and a new funny name. The shared round continues. There are no player accounts or permanent leaderboards.

What browser do I need?

Use a current desktop or mobile browser with JavaScript enabled. WebGL supports the 3D arena; the game includes a simpler fallback when 3D rendering is unavailable. Older devices may run more slowly.

Is Rumbots affiliated with Roblox?

No. Rumbots is an independent browser game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Roblox.

Which arenas can I play?

Neon Yard, Redrock Canyon, Frostbite Basin, and Overgrown Ruins. Your preferred starting arena is used when a new room is needed; otherwise you join an active room. Arenas rotate after each 100-kill round.
